We all know that Facebook gives us so many options (maybe too many!) to grow our businesses online. Think about, we have fan pages, personal profile and Facebook groups. The sky is the limit there.
The key is to choose one to start off with. What's the best?
In this post and video I'm dissecting Facebook page VS profile for business – which to use when brand new, the key differences between each, and which one suits your business model best.
Take Your Business to the Next Level
If you're dead serious about creating success in your network marketing business, there might be one tool that you're missing. I didn't realize it myself when I first got started. A lot of network marketers are actually missing the personal development and lead generation aspects. They're doing a lot of hard work, but forget about creating leverage – having people come to YOU asking about your business.
In 2014 I found an attraction marketing training platform that (not to exaggerate) not only changed my business, but my life. Not to mention it's been around since 2008 and never been stronger. So if you're looking to grow, generate more leads and surround yourself with literally the best community in the entire industry, I highly recommend for you to check out this platform. You and your business deserve this!
I've been a big proponent of using Facebook fan page when you want to scale your business, and leverage your time. However, we all know that personal profile is a lot easier to build up. Why? Cuz it's free! Yes, you do put the time into it, but sometimes that's all we got when starting out.
If you are a network marketer, 100% go with the personal profile. You'll be thankful that you did. Do you at all need a fan page? YES! But only in the long run. If you plan on being in business 5-10 years from now (hopefully you do), then fan page is what you'll need.
There will come a time when you'll ‘outgrow' your personal profile and you'll only wanna use your fan page. Look at people like Lewis Howes, Amy Porterfield, Marie Forleo.. They all are using their fan pages way more than their profiles. Fan pages are made to get you to use paid advertising and scale your business.
Here's one of the biggest questions I've got lately – if you run both a page and a profile – how do you share different content on each? How do you treat each of your ‘social media properties'?
Understand that your profile is NOT made for business. You're not supposed to throw straight up pitches or promotions. Facebook doesn't favor profiles that do that kinda stuff. I always say “if your profile looks like billboard, you're doing it wrong!”.
Fan page on the other side is more of a place where you can share your promotions. I'm not saying you should throw your network marketing company name all over the place.. We all know that's not effective. However, when you have the ability to advertise, you can focus more on list building, promoting webinars, events, etc.
From the profile, it's better to share more inspiration, motivation, lifestyle and curiosity posts. Personal profile is more about YOU and building relationships with your audience. Whereas fan page is more about providing high quality of content and automating it. Your fan page is where you can build rapport and relationships with multiple people at the same time. However, on the profile, you do spend more time in Messenger.
In the video below I dive deeper into each of them – Facebook page VS profile for business. Then you can decide which one to use right now based on where you're at in business, and of course, the key differences between them.
